Everything about Vizai Render: what it does, how much it costs, how credits work and how it compares with other rendering tools.

About Vizai

What is Vizai Render?

Vizai Render is a SketchUp extension that turns the view of your model into a photorealistic image with artificial intelligence. You set up the camera, choose the project type, lighting and weather, and the render is ready in under a minute, right in the SketchUp panel. No exporting, and no material or lighting setup.

Which SketchUp versions does Vizai work with?

SketchUp 2023 or newer, on Windows and Mac. Versions older than 2023 are not supported. SketchUp Free, which runs in the browser, is not supported either, because it doesn't accept extensions.

Does it work in Revit, Archicad or Rhino?

Not yet. Today Vizai works only in SketchUp.

Do I need a powerful computer or a graphics card?

No. The image is generated in the cloud, so Vizai doesn't use your computer's graphics card or processor to render. A regular laptop is enough, as long as it runs SketchUp and is connected to the internet.

Does it need an internet connection?

Yes. Generation happens in the cloud, so you need to be online while using Vizai.

How long does a render take?

20 to 60 seconds, depending on the scene and your connection. Videos and 3D blocks take longer: a 3D block is usually ready in a few minutes.

Will the render stay true to my design?

In structure, yes. Framing, geometry and the position of elements come from the SketchUp view, and the AI adds materials, light, sky and surroundings based on the project type and style you choose. As with any AI generation, small details can vary. When that happens, you fix just that area with a masked edit, without redoing the whole image.

Does Vizai read my 3D model?

No. It reads the image of the active view, exactly as the SketchUp camera shows it. That's why the framing you set up is the framing of the render. Your .skp file stays on your computer.

What happens to the images I send?

The view image goes to the AI providers we use (Google Cloud and Fal.ai) only to generate your render, and it isn't stored permanently afterwards. Finished images stay in the plugin's History, on your own computer, which keeps the 10 most recent.

Can I use the images in paid work?

Yes. Images generated in your account are yours, and you can use them in presentations, portfolios, proposals and any other commercial use.

Which languages is Vizai available in?

English, Portuguese and Spanish, in the plugin and on the website.

Pricing and credits

How much does Vizai cost?

Monthly plans are Starter at $ 29 for 250 credits a month, PRO at $ 59 for 600 credits, and Business at $ 129 for 1,600 credits. On yearly billing they come to $ 25, $ 50 and $ 110 a month, charged once a year ($ 295, $ 601 and $ 1,319), and the year's credits also arrive at once: 2,500, 6,000 and 16,000. If you'd rather not subscribe, one-time credit packs range from 50 credits for $ 11.90 to 1,750 credits for $ 149.

Is there a free version?

New accounts get 8 free credits on the first sign-in in the plugin, with no credit card. That's enough for two renders with your own project before you pay anything. The local tools (Mirror Reflection, Fake Light, Optimize File and Seamless Floors) don't use credits.

How many credits does each action cost?

Each action has a fixed credit cost:

  • 2K render: 4 credits
  • Creative AI (Furnish Spaces, Humanized Floor Plan, Moodboard and Diagram): 3 credits
  • Masked edit and new angles: 4 credits
  • 4K upscale: 5 credits
  • 360° panorama: 5 credits
  • AI video: 22 (4 s), 33 (6 s), 44 (8 s), 55 (10 s) or 83 (15 s) credits
  • 3D block from an image: 28 credits
  • Mirror Reflection, Fake Light, Optimize File and Seamless Floors: free

How many renders do I get with each plan?

Counting 4-credit renders: about 62 a month on Starter, 150 on PRO and 400 on Business. With packs: 12 on Mini, 50 on Basic, 175 on PRO and 437 on Enterprise. Creative AI, at 3 credits, goes further. Video, 4K and 3D blocks use more.

How much does each render cost in practice?

Between $ 0.32 and $ 0.95, depending on where the credits come from. On monthly plans: $ 0.46 on Starter, $ 0.39 on PRO and $ 0.32 on Business. With packs: $ 0.95 on Mini, $ 0.50 on Basic, $ 0.43 on PRO and $ 0.34 on Enterprise.

Do credits expire?

Plan credits last until the renewal: each billing cycle, the plan balance resets to the plan total, and unused plan credits don't roll over. Credit pack credits and the 8 welcome credits never expire. When you generate an image, Vizai uses plan credits first and pack credits after.

If a generation fails, do I lose the credits?

No. If a generation fails, the credits go back to your account automatically. If the image doesn't reach the plugin and the credits don't come back, write to suporte@vizairender.com.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, with no lock-in and no fee. You cancel from the plugin or from your account on the website, and the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, with that period's credits.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Plans are paid by credit card, including through Apple Pay and Google Pay. Credit packs accept card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus Pix for purchases in Brazilian reais.

Is there a refund?

For credit packs, yes: within 7 days of purchase, as long as no credit from the pack has been used. Subscriptions have no prorated refunds. When you cancel, the plan stays active until the end of the paid period.

Vizai and other tools

How is Vizai different from V-Ray, Enscape or Lumion?

They take different approaches. V-Ray, Enscape and Lumion calculate light from the 3D model: the result is technically precise, but you have to set up materials, lighting and surroundings, and speed depends on your computer. Enscape relies heavily on the graphics card and, on Mac, only runs on Apple silicon models. Lumion asks for a graphics card with at least 6 GB of memory and has no official Mac support. Vizai generates the image with AI from the view: no material or lighting setup, it runs on any computer with SketchUp 2023 or newer, Mac included, and delivers the image in under a minute.

When is a traditional renderer the better choice?

When you need technical control: lighting studies with real values, manufacturer materials that match the catalog exactly, long walkthrough animations, or a series of views of the same room that must be identical to each other. Because the AI interprets the scene on each generation, small details can change from one image to the next. You can use both: Vizai to explore and get client approval, and a traditional renderer for final delivery.

How is Vizai different from SketchUp AI Render (formerly SketchUp Diffusion)?

AI Render is Trimble's own AI tool. It comes with SketchUp Go, Pro and Studio subscriptions, with a monthly credit allowance, and the desktop extension works from SketchUp 2024. Vizai works from SketchUp 2023, with credits on plans or in packs that never expire, and has dedicated modes for each project type (exteriors, interiors, commercial, buildings and landscape), plus video, 360° panoramas, 3D blocks and local tools such as Mirror Reflection and Fake Light.

What about Veras and D5 Lite?

Veras, by Chaos, works inside several programs (Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Archicad and others), with a credit-based subscription and a 14-day trial. D5 Lite is a free SketchUp plugin, but its AI features require the paid D5 Pro license, and it runs only on Windows with an NVIDIA RTX graphics card. Vizai runs on Windows and Mac with no dedicated graphics card, with prices in US dollars, euros or Brazilian reais and support in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Why not take a screenshot and use ChatGPT or Midjourney?

You can try, but they're general tools: they tend to change the geometry, move windows and invent elements, and every attempt means exporting, writing a prompt, downloading and going back to SketchUp. Vizai runs inside SketchUp and uses ready, tested instructions for each project type, with rules to keep the framing and geometry of the view.

How to use

How do I install Vizai?

Download the .rbz file from the download page and, in SketchUp, go to Window, Extension Manager, Install Extension and pick the file. It takes less than a minute. Then open the Vizai panel and sign in with your Google account.

Do I need a Google account?

Yes. Sign-in, in the plugin and on the website, uses a Google account.

What is Creative AI?

Four modes beyond rendering the view: furnishing an empty room, turning a floor plan into a humanized floor plan, creating a moodboard and generating project diagrams. Each costs 3 credits.

How do I make mirror reflections in SketchUp?

With Vizai's Mirror Reflection tool, which creates reflections on mirrors, cabinet glass, switched-off TVs and polished floors that match the scene, before rendering and without using credits.

How do I make a video or a 360° panorama?

Video starts from a finished render: in the Video tab, you choose the camera movement and the length, from 4 to 15 seconds, and the clip comes out in 1080p with optional ambient sound. The 360° panorama comes straight from the model: in the 360 tab, you mark the wall and where you stand, and the AI returns a panorama your client explores through a link, on a computer or phone.
